Kovács Tibor: A múltat idézve, előre tekintve emlékezzünk! 200 éves a Magyar Nemzeti Múzeum

16 lik . KOVÁCS TIBOR museum events, not only by loaning items from our own collections, but also by becoming one of the stations of the thematic exhibitions that regularly tour Europe - many of which are created through cooperation between various countries in order to offer a complete a picture as possible of various historical periods and peoples, and to evoke the lifeways, the art, the beliefs and religion of bygone ages. The renovation and reconstruction of the magnificent neoclassical building of the Hungarian National Museum has been completed: as a result, we now have new exhibition spaces, air-conditioned storage facilities, a conservation laboratory that conforms to the highest international standards, and we have also created a computer system and an adequate security system. One of our goals is to fulfil the perhaps most important task of a museum: to preserve the relics of the past for the present and, also, for future societies. This concern permeates every activity of the Hungarian National Museum, including the management of the archaeological collection with its over 700,000 artefacts. Dr. Tibor Kovács General Director of the Hungarian National Museum
