52 HARGITA ORAVECZ Grave B-5 (Fig. 2). The skeleton was found lying on the yellow subsoil. The grave pit was dug into the humus, but the patch outlining the grave pit could not be observed. The arm, leg and hip bones perished, the skull and the jawbones were dislocated. The digital bones, the cervical and dorsal vertebrae, as well as the left ribs were in their original position, indicating that the deceased was laid to rest on its left side (and partly on its back) with a southeast to northwest orientation. The grave goods were two smaller vessels. One was found upside down under the skull, and contained remains of red ochre. Its rim had four indentations, and the vessel itself was decorated with an incised inverted horn-like pattern, filled with black encrustation. The other vessel was behind the back, near the ribs. The undecorated vessel, tempered with chaff, had an oval mouth. Gender: female, age: maturus-senium. 5 Grave fí-6. The burial found in the upper fill of a Neolithic pit was disturbed by ploughing. The greater part of the skeleton did not lie in anatomical order. Only the skull and the digital bones were in their original position, suggesting that the deceased was buried in a contracted position with the hands drawn in front of the face. ALP pottery sherds from the lill of the pit were scattered around the skeletal remains. There are no data on orientation and possible grave goods, or on the gender and age of the deceased. Grave B-9 (Fig. 1 ). The grave pit showed an oval patch. The deceased was laid on its left side in a contracted position, with the hands drawn in front of the face and a southeast to northwest orientation. A small, badly preserved cup was found in front of the face (lying partly on the jawbone). The beads of a necklace lay scattered in the region of the neck. The small beads were carved from limestone and carefully polished. Gender: male, age: maturus. Grave B-10 (Fig. 3). The grave pit was not outlined. The skeleton was disturbed. The right arm bone lay across the breastbone, while the left arm bone placed parallel to the body. The deceased put on its left side in a contracted position, with a southeast to northwest orientation. A broken shoe-last shaped stone axe lay by the knees, and the prism shaped stone beads of a necklace were found scattered in the region of the chest. Age: infans I. Grave B-l 1 (Fig. 1 ). The burial was dug into the humus; the grave pit was not outlined, fhe skeleton was incomplete, but the position of the long bones - and especially the legbones - suggests that the deceased was laid to rest in a strongly contracted position, partly on its back, with a northeast to southwest orientation. There were no grave goods. Age: infans I. Grave B-12 (Fig. 3). The deceased was buried in a refuse pit. Only badly preserved fragments of the skull and the ribs have survived. There is no data on the orientation or the burial rite. A thin-walled undecorated vessel found beside the skeletal remains was probably part of the grave inventory, while other pottery fragments found near the skeletal remains came from the fill of the refuse pit. Age: infans I. Grave B-13 (Fig. 3). The grave pit has an oval form. The deceased was laid partially on its chest. The skull was dislodged from its original position. The left arm lay under the body, with the wristbone by the shoulder bone and the digital 5 The anthropological analyses were carried out by Zsuzsanna К. Zoffmann.
