0 As a consequence of sortings out on the spot during the excavations as well as the rather uneven level of the publications the osteological material found in the settlements listed above has only a restricted documentary value. Therefore the osteological material as well as the "faunas" — i. e. the assemblages of species found in the food garbage of sites — are suitable for an archaeological evaluation only to a limited extent. In spite of this the differences between the qualitative/quantitative composition of the known osteological material in the sites can still refer to the resemblances or differences in the ecosystem and economic life of the various 3 Kisléghi, jY.Gy., Arch.
