BANNËR—FÔLfïNY: THE TfflRD EXCAVATION ON THE KÖKÉNYDOMB increased with significant data, but we gained also reliable finds, especially to the problem of the Neolithic house. These show that we have to reckon within the same culture with several types of building. Those relics deserve attention which show connection partly with the Bükk-Culture (Pl. X, fig. 12) which draws the attention to the Hungarian antecedents of the fluting ornamentation of the Pécel-culture. But we must point out separately thosë specimens which are the reminiscences of the KŐrös-culture (Pl. V, figs. 6, 9, and Pl. VI, fig. 4.). The Bánát-culture iß also represented by a typical form (Pl. V, fig. 4)

4 One single vessel shows a conhectiofl towards Vinca (Pl. V, fig. 10.). Unfortunately the relics of the Bronze Age did not occur with such connecting phenomena as we hoped, but it rendered doubtless data to the continuity of thé settlement. These results and thé fact that thé settlement is far from being entirely explored make it nècessary to continue our excavations» éven in that case when we have no hope of thé possibility for the entire exploration.
