A parodontális tasakok kezelésekor elengedhetetlen, hogy a professzionális tasaktisztítást is akadályozó elálló szélű töméseket illetve pótlásokat korrigáljuk vagy eltávolítsuk. Hasonlóképp lényeges az is, hogy a parodontális kezelést követőn csak tökéletesen adaptált, supraginigvális széli záródású restaurátum kerüljön a szájba, amely nem fogja nehezíteni az egyéni plakk-kontrollt, és így nem járul hozzá a subgingivális parodontopathogén baktériumflóra újbóli kolonizációjához, és a gyulladásos folyamat fellángolásához.

Jelenleg csupán a radiológiailag kimutatható approximális csontveszteség és a hibás approximális restaurátum-szélek viszonyát vizsgáltuk. A vizsgálati eredmények azt mutatják, hogy viszonylag előrehaladott állapotban már kevésbé befolyásolja a mély tasakban élő biofilm összetételét és a gyulladást lokális, az ínyszél közelében fekvő plakkretenciós tényező. A módszer korláti miatt csak az approximális csontnívót értékelhettük. A következőkben alapos klinikai-radiológiai elemzés szükséges ahhoz, hogy valóban kimondható legyen, miszerint a mély tasak flórája nagymértékben függetleníti magát az ínyszélt érő lokális irritáló tényezőktől.
