For differential-diagnostic reasons, histological examination of the removed epulis is compulsory [18, 20, 23]. It must be distinguished from gingival hyperplasia, fibrous epulis and peripheral giant cell granuloma [4, 6, 14, 18, 23], Overall, the results of our examinations and the data to be found in the literature indicate the following features: • the incidence of pregnancy epulis is approximately 0.5%; • most cases of epulis require conservative treatment; following childbirth, the epulis recedes; • surgical intervention is necessary in about 20-30% of the cases in consequence of the unstoppable bleeding, the inability to eat, and aesthetic disadvantages; • in approximately 10% of the cases, the epulis does Vascular spaces of various shapes and sizes embedded in connective tissue also containing lymphocytic infiltration (HE, 300 x) Fig. 10.
