mellett, jelentős mértékben elősegíti a parodontális szövetek regenerációját. Jól alkalmazható furcatio laesiók és két-három falú csonttasakok kezelésére. Sikerrel alkalmazható a mucogingivalis sebészetben is. A horizontális csontpusztulás, valamint a processus alveoláris szélének koronális irányú regenerációja azonban még továbbra sem megoldott. Mivel a parodontium regenerációs képessége korlátozott, a modern irányított szövetregenerációs műtétek költségesek, és csupán egy-egy stratégiai fontosságú fog megtartására alkalmazhatók, továbbra is legfontosabb célunk a jelentős parodontális tapadásveszteséget okozó gyulladásos folyamatok kialakulásának megelőzése, ill. ezeknek kellő időben történő szakszerű kezelése kell hogy legyen.
