Dr. Boros, Ildikó: The fluoride content of teas purchased in Hungary and its relation to caries prevention. Fluoride contents of infusions prepared from 20 different brands and types of teas purchased in Hungary have been measured. In the conventional filtered tea samples the fluoride concentration ranged from 0.96 to 2.88 ppm (mean; 1.66 ppm), and <0.02 to 0.22 ppm in herbal tea infusions. Considering the results presented here and those in the literature, both the beneficial effects and risks of tea consumption have been discussed. 362
