На 150 молярных и премолярных зубах авторы, с помощью стереомикроскопа, изучали влияние на прилипание типов, локализации и возраста дефектных аппроксимальных амальгамных пломб. Во всех случаях в качестве контроля служила интактная поверхность соответствующего зуба противоположной стороны. Среднее значение потери плилипания в случае пломбированных поверхностей составляло 2,34 мм, тогда как для контрольных поверхностей 1,65 мм; разница является статистически значимой.
