PAST OF THE CITY. THE BIBLIOGRAPHY "THE HISTORY OF BUDAPEST IN PICTURES 1493-1980"

In the "Budapest Collection" of the Szabó Ervin Municipal Library data collecting has been carried on for several decades. The Budapest iconography will cover nearly.100 000 items.

This huge data collection is an almost complete source directory - about all kinds of pictures dating back to 1^93 the first wood-engraving showing-. Buda up tó the -printed pictures of nowadays.

The study describes the methods of iconographie data collecting the system of finding and cataloguing pictures the principles of classifying and a detailed program to this latter work.
