Palm Bay, Fla. 32905 földönjáró szenteket választ eszközül, (ilyeneket nem is találna!) hanem iga­zán megtért bűnösöket, akiket a bűn­bocsátó kegyelem és szeretet köteléké­vel örökre magához láncolt. „Néki sok bűne bocsáttatott meg, mert na­gyon szeretett.” Ez a szeretet hajtotta Máriát sötét hajnali órán elsőnek ér­kezni Jézus sírjához. A sír üres volt. Hogy ez mit jelen­tett, ma már tudjuk, de akkor a feltá­madás ténye még elképzelhetetlen volt, egészen addig, míg a tanítványok szeme és értelme „megnyilatkozott.” Mária egyetlen következtetése: Elvitték az Urat a sírból! A feltámadás bizonyságai: 1. Angyalok kijelentése. Mária tá­vozása után az odaérkező asszonyok hallották ezt, majd később Máriát is megszólította az angyal. 2. Az otthagyott leplek. Ha a holt­testet elvitték volna, ezekkel együtt vit­ték volna el. Az élő Jézusnak nem volt szüksége halotti lepelre! Különös gon­dolatok járhatták át az odafutó Pétert és Jánost, aki végül „látott és hitt.” 3. Jézus személyes megjelenése. A fel nem ismert Jézus. Először vi­gasztal: Miért sírsz? Mária nem látja. A fel nem ismert Jézus beleillik a mai világképbe is. A mi korunk a hamis keresztyénség, a tudományos magya­rázatok, tévtanok és a kényelmes hívő élet ideje. Ez a bűn hozza majd ama napon fejükre az ítéletet: „Bizony mondom, nem ismerlek titeket!” A felismert Jézus. Néven szólítja Máriát, azzal a végtelen gyöngédséggel és szeretettel, ahogyan csak Ő tud szól­ni a szívhez. Sokan szólítanak, hívnak minket, de senkisem úgy, mint Ő! „A maga juhait nevükön szólítja és kive­zeti őket” e világból. A fehér kövecs­kére írott új nevedet egyedül Ő ismeri, meg te! Mária szeretetének jutalma: „Láttam az Urat”, és a jó hír, az üzenet tovább­adása. Számunkra is csak úgy igazi a húsvét ünnepe, ha személyes találkozá­sunk lesz az élő Krisztussal! Louis Drescher, treasurer Csakugyan ezt mondta? Sohasem fogom elfelejteni egy fiatalon elhunyt lelkipásztor társamnak azt a meg­jegyzését, amit az őt felmérgesíteni akaró asszonynak mondott. Az asszony azért ke­reste fel, hogy a gyülekezet egyik tisztség­­viselőjére panaszkodjon, őt nagy igyeke­zettel ócsárolja. Iparkodott színesen „ki­tálalni” mindazt, amit a tisztségviselő róla, a lelkészről mondott. Az ifjú lelkész így fe­lelt: ,, Csakugyan ezt mondta? Akkor ne­kem még jobban kell szeretnem ezt az em­bert. ”— A hitetlen gondolhat megtorlás­ra, elhidegülésre, de a hívő, ha igazán Jé­zusé, nem érezhet mást, mint kötelezettsé­get arra, hogy több szeretetet adjon. (Múlt, jelen, jövő, 1992) A tanítványok hivatása Ti vagytok a földnek sója; ha pedig a só ízét veszti, mivel sózzák meg? Nem jó azután sem­mire, csak hogy kidobják és eltapossák az em­berek. January at Bethesda I deeply regret that all of our reading audience could not visit Bethesda during the month of January. After the Christmas flowers and plants are on display in the Bethesda Chapel for the month of Decem­ber, they are planted outdoors to beautify the surrounding grounds. We are most grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Zoltán Biro who tend the planting and trimming and help bring new life into all foliage around The Home and Chapel. We have had an unusual number of re­sidents taken ill and besieged by physical problems. But a good lesson learned, is never to underestimate the potential and power of their human spirit. We have the unique situation of people living under one roof in the age span of 68—101. But they are optimistic and content with what is their lot. We thank the Lord for His daily mercies which are fresh everyday on their behalf. One of the most charished times for our people is when they go out as a group of 10-12 adults and visit a new restaurant under the cheery title of “Out-to-Lunch- Bunch”. The group is led by Evelyn McHugh, Activities Director, and after se­lecting their desired meal, the orders are called in. Upon their arrival, they are seated and served within minutes in grand style. The decision making and anticipa­tion of going somewhere different, helps their self esteem. It certainly is a most en­joyable achievement for them. We are honored by the presence of our Canadian visitors. We are enjoying the company of Mary Oszvari, Clara Tomori, Mary Barta, Mary Sales, Amalia Gabriel and Katalin Pataki. They are always very kind to bring „csiga” for our traditional Sunday chicken soup as a special treat. They join in on the activities and church services. They are especially blessed by the Florida sunshine. We are reminded over again that God is our source of daily strength and is ever present to guide the daily work and fun times, too. Please pray for all of our people and that HE would continue to bring in folks of HIS choosing.
