It was so very good to see many of our old friends who come together to create worthy programs of missionary endeavor for God and The Union. Many important matters were covered during the 2!4 days of meetings which information will be forthcoming in subsequent months. The men and women of both boards are fully dedicated toward the tasks set before them. We covet your prayers concerning these fine people and for the work they are committed to do. A special dedication of the Bethesda Library was held wherein the benefactors, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Showah and Mrs. Mary Showah, the mother of Mr. Showah, were honored. Dedication speakers were Ernest Cziraky, Ernest Kish and Rev. A. Barton Brown. A beautiful black and gold plaque was affixed to the entrance wall of the library bearing the words: Showah Library. We extend deep Mr. and Mrs. Frank Showah and Mrs. Mary Showah appreciation from all of our residents for this beautiful addition to Bethesda. There was a Valentine Day celebration planned and every resident wishing to vote for The Bethesda Sweethearts was given a ballot. Mr. and Mrs. John Wächter received the most votes. In the absence of Mrs. Wächter who was recuperating in Holmes Medical Center from a virus (which also affected several others for about two weeks), lima Damiano and Gideon Bain were elected as proxy runner-up sweethearts. All four are doing their part to make Bethesda a cheerful and blessed place. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Haydn from Collins, Ohio, presented The Home with a special American flag. This flag was originally given to Mrs. Elizabeth Haydn in memory of her brother Mike Tarrak (who served in the U.S. Navy for 40 years). A special thanks to the entire Haydn Family as they continue to play an important part in the on-going history of Bethesda. Please continue to pray for our residents and our workers who serve them. We thank you one and all for remembering the needs of our residents and the operation of The Home. God bless you all. Ernest Cziraky jj.
