6. oldal 1986. április 15. February at Bethesda The shortest month of the year has passed into history. God was good to us once again and He took care of our needs for another month. The month was unusually cold with temperatures in the thirties and forties. However, we were spared the effects of frost on our plant life. We had only two short periods when our temperature dropped below 32 degrees, for which we are thankful. Our resident rooms were full during the month, but we had much turnover. Our elderly residents are sensitive to cold weather and therefore they catch colds and the flu very quickly. Generally speaking however, our Hungarian old timers are still in reasonable health. Time however has a way of taking its toll on all of us and these old timers are no exception. Mr. Alexander Raduly is 98 years of age and still in good health. He praises the Lord constantly for all the blessings he has received over the course of many years. Mrs. John Szász is 97 years old and in spite of her frailties, she praises God for His loving care. Mary Pavlik is 85, with quite a few health problems, but she still attends church on every occasion and praises God for all His blessings. Addie Bennett is 102 years old and attributes her longevity to God’s special love for her. Steve Matyas is 92 years of age and slowing down considerably, but is still faithful to the Lord. Kate Hamula is 85 and enjoying the fellowship of our Home. Rebecca Eibner is comparatively new to life at Bethesda and is now acclamating very nicely. Maude Bretz is a fine addition to both our Home and our Church. She serves both organizations most faithfully and we praise God for her services to us. Mr. & Mrs. Bokor are beautiful people and are an inspiration for all of us. Their kind words of encouragement are gratefully accepted by all concerned. Helen Repasy helps us put out the pastries and cookies each day. She works quietly and we are grateful for her help. Finally, Ignatz and Irene Fekete have been most helpful to us here at the Home. There is not an area of need that they do not lend a hand to resolve whatever the problem or need may be. We are most grateful to God for their love and faithfulness. We have so many other loved ones here who help us in both prayers and deeds. We have developed a very fine report with most of our loved ones for which we praise God’s holy Name. Of course, this situation is not one sided. We too do all we can to make our residents comfortable and allow them to live a life of independence and dignity. May this feeling of mutual concern continue to be with us for many years to come. February was the month wherein we celebrated Valentines’ Day. This is a special time of year when we recognize Bethesda’s Sweetharts. This year, this distinction was won by our own Ignatz and Irene Fekete. They are so kind to our residents and therefore they won the hearts of all of us. We congratulate them for having won this award. Each month we also vote for our Employee of the Month. Our employees voted Gabriella Dudics for this award. Gabriella takes good care of our residents and is willing to go beyond the call of duty. We congratulate Gabriella for attaining these honors. Please remember all of us in your prayers.
