Lindsay, new pastor of the Silliman Memor­ial Baptist Church, was installed in a special service on Sunday, Novem­ber 19, 1967. The installation was followed by a reception in the church hall honoring pastor Lind­say and his family. An organ prelude "Now Thank We All Our God’’ opened the service of installation, followed by the Call to Worship by Edwin Kautz, Vice- Moderator of the Church Board. ing in biblical studies. He was grant­ed a Bachelor of Divinity degree in 1963 from the Gordon Divinity School in Massachusetts. During his schooling at Gordon, he served the First Congregational Church of West Newbury, Massachusetts. Mrs. Lindsay, the former Elaine Sagar, is also a graduate of Whea­ton with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Her major is elementary education, and she holds a teaching certificate in Massachusetts and Connecticut. The Lindsay’s have two sons, Kevin, 20 months old, and Keith, who is three months old. Mr. Lind­say has been the Chairman of the Ecumenical Affairs of the Stoning­­ton Baptist Association, and also was the President of the Ministers Council. He is a member of the Board of Managers of the Connecti­cut Baptist Convention, and he is on the committee for Evangelism and Social Concern. He was Presi­dent of the Plainfield, Connecticut Council of Churches in 1965, and chairman of its youth work. Mr. Lindsay has expressed a keen inte­rest in our bilingual background, and is looking forward to his asso­ciation with the Hungarian Baptist Union of America. The Invocation was by the Reve­rend Cortez Tipton, Executive Di­rector of the Bridgeport Council of Churches. The Junior Choir sang an anthem, "Surely Goodness and Mer­cy", and the Senior Choir sang "Give Unto The Lord, 0 Ye Mighty”. The scripture lesson was given by Mrs. Mary K. Steg, Treasurer of the Hungarian Baptist Union of America. Dr. Albert W.Sheckells, pastor of the First Baptist Church, delivered the sermon “A Continuing Church In A Changing Community”. The Re­verend Alex H. Elsesser, Minister of Education of the Connecticut Baptist Convention, delivered the the commitment to the minister and to the congregation. Arthur G. Stumpf , Chairman of the Pulpit Committee, brought the declara­tion. Greetings were brought by the various organizations. Mrs. Judith Toth is organist. The Junior Choir Director is Mrs. Nancy Mecca, and the Senior Choir Direc­tor is Miss Deborah Stumpf. The Reverend David Owen Lind­say was born in Cranford, New Jersey, and received his public school education through high school in Needham, Mass. He was graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1959, his major field of study being Greek. Montreálban, Kanada nagy met­ropolisában többször kezdődött el munkálkodás a magyar baptista misszió vonalán. Legutóbb a múlt Convenció alkalmával Vér elnök és több testvér buzdítására a torontói gyülekezet felé hangzott a bíztató felhívás: Hálás szeretettel várják az Igét a montreáli testvérek. Ki megy el, kik mennek el erre a szolgálat­ra ...? Még mindig nyitott ez a kér­dés. A torontói testvérek havi egy­szeri szolgálatot vállaltak Montreál­­ba. Szász János tv. már megírta buz­dító felhívásait és kedves olvasóm Te is soron vagy ... Főképpen imád­ságodra van szükség. És segítségeid­re. Milyen jó lenne, hogy tanulnál a nagy apostoltól: Ő ha misszió­munkáról volt szó, vonakodás nél­kül engedelmeskedett. Utóbbi években eddig három tag­ja volt a montreáli kis hivő csoport­nak, most ez év konferenciáján és konvencióján a hallott Ige hatására újabb három testvér felvételére és alámerítkezésére került sor. A mont­reáli új testvérekhez még két toron­tói is csatlakozott. 1967. október 8- án volt a bemerítési ünnepély To­rontóban. Szeretettel közöljük az Evangéliu­mi Hírnök olvasóival id.
