Előbb meglepetésnek volt szánva, de a viharos téli időjárás miatt el kellett odázni s igy nyilvánossá kellett tenni a nemes szán­dékot. Mintha a zimankós idő szándékosan a célból akart volna lecsendesedni, mert a­­zután ismét elkezdte a durva munkát. A nőegylet rendezésében volt tervezve az esemény, de gyülekezeti jelleget öltött. A szerda esti imaóra után a hosszú asztal mellett helyet foglaltak a vendégek. Egy remek alkalmi torta díszítette a főhelyet. A nőegylet alelnöknője, Vass Dávidné nő­vér méltányolta meleg szavakban az ünne­pelt szolgálatkészségét s egyben átnyúj­totta a nőegylet és kivételesen a gyüleke­zet ajándékát. Nővérünk keresetlen sza­vakban fejezte ki köszönetét, amit ezúton ismétel. IMAHÁZUNK benseje festés előtt áll. Az ügy e sorok Írásakor a tárgyalás stá­diumában van és a remény az, hogy rövi­desen valóra válik. Egyben kevés alakítási munka is tervbe van véve. Campbell-i Krónikás —------O---------Youth Rally On January 30, 1960, the Ohio Hungarian Baptist Young People held their Winter Rally in Campbell, Ohio, although snow was predicted, we were blessed with a beautiful day with the roads clear for good dri­ving. The members of the Shaker Sq. church of Cleveland decided to rent a bus for the occassion and to every­one's surprise the bus was 90 minutes late. Due to a joyous welcome by the Campbell church and a tasty luncheon served by the Campbell la­dies, our spirits were once again brightened and we had an enjoyable evening of fellowship. After several songs and prayer, President James Orbán gave a brief outline of the evening theme “The need for more Christian Homes“, using the text of Proverbs 12:7 and Proverbs 14:11. Suzan and Stuart Cergol, age 9, from Cleveland Shaker Sq. played a medely of hymns and a classic piece on their accordians. Following this, Mrs. Major of Campbell spoke on the effect of the Sunday School in the home. She gave several illustrations of how Sunday School members hel­ped to bring their parents to the sav­ing knowledge of Jesus Christ. Em­phasizing the fact that young child­ren can and want to learn about God and Jesus. She stated that proper religious and spiritual training of children should begin at an early age. The Combined band with members from various churches played the International favorite “Billy Sun­days Overture“. We are all grateful to the band members for giving us inspiring music. James Orbán spoke about the ba­sic environment of a Christian Home namely a Christian Marriage, with the teachings of Christ in everyday living, He urged the Young People to use great care and thought when looking for a prospective partner. A wonderful piano duet was given by Miss Eleanor Vass and Miss Joy Middlestead of Campbell. The sec­retary of the Ohio Conference, Miss Eleanor Turk of Cleveland Shaker Sq. gave a brief financial report and took a roll call of the churches attending more then 120 people came from ten different churches in the district- Cleveland's Shaker Sq. had the largest representation, 64. at this time 12 new guests were intro­duced. Rev Gabriel Petre gave a brief report about the Old Folks Home in Florida. The dedication of the comp­leted new building will be held on March 27, 1960. Jerry Cergol, the youthful orga­nist from Cleveland Shaker Sq. pla­yed a Solo on the Organ. After the evening offering Dennis Lang of Campbell played the “Normandy Chimes" on the piano. Young little Dennis Largine of Campbell recited a poem about Jesus and his wonders. The evening speaker Rev. Basil Williams, director of the Campbell Youth Center gave a wonderful mes­sage on how members of the home contribute to the effect of the home. He spoke of the duties of Husband and Wife- He related several tradgic incidents where Christ was left out of the home and the shameful results The Joys of everyday Christian living were also brought out. Rev. Edward Orosz gave closing prayer after we all sang the hymn “God be With you Till we meet again Due to a late start, many people were left off the program. Miss Eleanor Turk Secretary - Treasurer •--------o---------Jelentés az Aggmenháztól Január 20.-án Vér tv-től nyert ér­tesülésünk szerint a Bet’hesda Ott­hon uj épületének munkálatai szépen haladnak előre. Fundamentom, a terrazzó már mind készen van s az épület egyik szárnya is elkészült. A téglafal ott felvan rakva, a szarufák is készen vannak, hogy azokat is rö­videsen feltegyék. Bent vannak az ablak rámák s a legtöbb épületi a­­nyag már a helyszínen van. A napokban érkezett haza onnan a new yorki Cseprega tv.-nő is, aki szóbeli jelentésében is elmondta e­­zeket. Cseprega tv.nő el van ragad­tatva az ottani helyzet miatt s azt mondta, hogy neki “még a felét se mondták el" hogy milyen szép hely az és hogy “azt látni kell, hogy va­laki teljesen meggyőződjön a kör­nyezet ideális voltáról." Elmondta azt is, hogy Vér tv. rengeteget dolgo­zik s hogy imádkoznunk kell érte, hogy a munkát sikeresen be is vé­gezhesse. Nem győzött eleget beszél­ni arról is, hogy Vér tv.-nő kora reg­geltől késő estig mennyit dolgozik. Minden ami sorra jön ő megcsinálja- Hogy Stég tv.-nő is, aki jelenleg az Otthonnál “vakációzik“ reggeltől estig az irodai munkálatokat végzi, ami nagy segítség Attila tv.-éknek, akik természetesen szintén rettene­tes sokat dolgoznak. A clevelandi Dobra tv. a narancsfákat tisztogatja s kocsijával is segédkezik a bevásár­lások munkálataival. Dicsérte az ét­kezési rendszert is, miszerint a saját otthonában sem étkezik jobban, ő is segitett a varrás, reperálási munká­latokban, amint azt tehette. Vér tv. levelében azt is megemlíti, hogy “az időjárás nagyon jó. Sok jó napfény és meleg van. A jövendölés mára is 78 fok." Ezt magam is fi­gyelem a napilapokban, ahol azt ol­vashatjuk, hogy az általános időjá­rás 70-80 fok között lebeg, mig az
