years after the Milleneum of the foundation. It was placed at the gate of the castle. In 1999 it became damaged. 57. Birth. The 2,5m high stone statue was erected at a corner of Attila József Square in 1982. It is the work of Márta Csikai (1930- ). 58. The Bust of Mihály Babits. (Mihály Babits was one of the greatest Hungarian poets of the beginning of the 20th century. He spent some years in Esztergom, where he bought a small villa on a mount opposite the Danube.) The statue is the work of Tibor Borbás (1942- ). It was made of bronze and is 80 cm high. It was erected in 1983, on occasion of the centenary of the birth of the poeet. It was placed at the corner of Petőfi Street and Malonyai Street onto a 80 cm high postament. 59. The Statue of an Egyptian Warrior. The 80cm high work of the ceramist László B. Hegyi (1951- ); it was made at the beginning of the 1980's, and was placed in the courtyard of the Town Hall. 60. The Statue of Franz Liszt. This 270cm high statue was made of concrete, bronze, basalt and chrome steel, by István Marosits (1943- ). It was erected on occasion of the centenary of Liszt's death, in 1986. It stands in Pázmány street. 61. The Statue ofjános Vitéz. This 180cm high statue representing the sitting figure of the famous Renaissance archbishop and chancellor was erected in 1988. It was made of bronze and is to be found at the feet of the Palace Hill, opposite the Vitéz János Teacher Training College, named after the archbishop. It is the work of Zoltán Szentirmai (1941- ). Behind the statue, on the background made of stone we can see the coat of arms of the archbishop. 62. The Memorial Column of the Marthyrs of Arad. The original of the memorial was erected in 1955 in the Square named after the martyrs. The upper pyramidal part was attached in 1999 to the column. The total height of the memorial is 2 metres. 63. The Stone Memorial of The Foot Regiment No 14. It is a World War I. memorial, and is placed on the wall of the Héviz Bastion in Kis Duna Avenue. It is the work of Lajos Berényi (1882-1943) 't wa s inaugurated in the beginnings of the i92o's. It is of a 2x3 m size. The inscription says: Dedicated to the memory of our regiment, the troopers of Bars-Esztergom-Hont and Nyitra Counties. 64. The Coronation Scene of St. Stephen. The stone relief was made by Károly Antal (1909-1994). It is to be found on the way up to St Thomas' Hill.
