Az Egyetemi Könyvtár Cod. Lat. 20. kódexének új vizsgálata... SUMMARY The University Library's manuscript Cod. Lat 20. is one of those 34 manuscripts, which were sent back by the Turkish Sultan, Abdul-Hamid II. (1842-1918) in 1877 - because it probably belonged to the famous library of King Matthias (1443-1490). The present study tries to prove that the manuscript couldn't be in Hungary before 1877, that's why we have to count it as unauthentical monument of Humanism in Hungary. There are no convincing arguments that the notes ont he argins of the manuscripts are are from János Vitéz (1408-1472), bishop of Esztergom - as alleged previously -, or not. Neinter the armorial on the first page of the manuscript resolves the question. In the end of the essay the most valuable part of the Codex, a Latin translation of one of the letters of Phalaris, is analysed deeper along with a publication of its text having an important role in clearing up the history of the codex. ZUSAMMENFASSUNG Die im Titel erwähnte Handschrift der ÜB Budapest ist eine jener 35 Handschriften , die im Jahre 1877 vom osmanischen Sultan Abdul Hamid IL als Geschenk aus Konstantinopel nach Budapest geschickt wurden und die einst in den Bestand der berühmten Bibliothek des ungarischen Königs Matthias Corvinus (1443-1490) bereicherten. Der Autor versucht es zu beweisen, daß die Handschrift vor 1877 in der Bibliothek sicherlich nicht vorhanden war, d. h. keine echte Corvina ist, und die selbe Tatsache scheint auch die heraldische Untersuchung des Wappens am Anfang der Handschrift zu bestätigen. Der Autor untersucht desweiteren einen lateinsprachigen Phalaris-Brief

, der zum ersten Mal in Druck erscheint. Mit seiner Publikation möchte der Autor beweisen, daß das Nachleben der Phalaris-Briefe in Ungarn von großer Bedeutung ist und mit der Publikation auch zur Klärung der Herkunftsgeschichte beigetragen werden konnte. 91
