POZDER PÉTER EGER KISKERESKEDELMI VONZÁSKÖRZETE ABSTRACT: (Sphere of attraction of retail trade of Eger) The author has been investigating the central functions of Eger, one of Hungary's oldest towns, the county town of Heves County. The purpose of his research has been to define the sphere of attraction of Eger. The present paper presents the sphere of attraction of retail trade of Eger. A census of customers was carried out in the shops of the town when the function of retail trade was examined. Having evaluated the data, the sphere of attraction of the town in the case of retail trade was delineated (figure 1). Correlation calculi demonstrate that there is a close connection between commutation and shopping (r = 0,753). The market of Eger has a rather limited sphere of attraction. Foodstuffs are supplied by distant villages (figure 4). Fairs have gradually lost the significance they once had. The Eger fairs are of no importance at all. Településföldrajzi kutatásaim során hazánk egyik legrégibb városának, Heves megye székhelyének, Egernek központi funkcióit vizsgáltam. Eger történelme folyamán mindig városi, központi szerepkörökkel rendelkezett. Fő célom az volt, hogy Eger komplex vonzáskörzetét meghatározzam az 1980-as évek elején betöltött funkciói alapján. Kutatásaimat az is indokolja, hogy Eger központi szerepköre és földrajzi fekvése ellentmondásos. A város mind a megye, mind a tágabb környezetének viszonylatában periférikus helyzetű: Heves és Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén megye határán fekszik. A város vonzáskörzetét befolyásoló tényezők vizsgálata után az egyes ágazati: kiskereskedelmi-, piaci-, oktatási-, szolgáltatási-, egészségügyi-, munkaerővonzási körzeteit határoztam meg.
