LEHEL VADON JOHN ERNST STEINBECK: A HUNGARIAN BIBLIOGRAPHY The intention of the editor of Eger Journal of American Studies is to launch for a bibliographical series of major American authors in Hungary. The present bibliography is satisfying to make available for the first time a reasonably complete record of publications—both primary and secondary sources

—of John Ernst Steinbeck. The books in Primary Sources are listed in order of date of first publication in English, followed by the Hungarian translation in chronological arrangement. Selections from the works of Steinbeck and his short stories in Hungarian translations are arranged in order of punblication date in Hungary. The entries of the Secondary Sources are presented under the names of the authors, listed in alphabetical order. The entries by unknown authors are arranged in chronological order. Material for this bibliography has been collected from periodicals and newspapers, listed in the book: Vadon Lehel: Az amerikai irodalom és irodalomtudomány bibliográfiája a magyar időszaki kiadványokban 1990-ig.
