79 DIAKONIA Lutheran Review Summary Anders Nygren DD., former professor for systematic theology, later bishop of the diocese of Lund/Sweden and first president of The Lutheran World Federation, is presented in the series of „Contemporary Theologians” by Vilmos Vajta. In the 1920th, Nygren has elaborated a basic concept of philosophy of religion, which he has confronted 50 years later with „the philosophical revolution of our century” („Meaning and Method” 1972). Acknowledging essential affinities, he is also eager to underline the specific task of theology within human sciences. Quoting briefly Nygrens famous presentation of Christian love („Agape and Eros” 1938—39), the author reminds of the significant ecumenical fruits of this ecumenical oeuvre. Aetiology is the science which researches animal behaviour. Edit Kézdy’s essay ’Like the animals’ examines biological aggression in animals, the causes of their aggressive behaviour, its functions in race preservation, its known types, and the causes which make animals relatively abstain from killing. On the basis of the research findings of K. Lorenz, Vilmos Csányi, E. T. Hall et al., the biology teacher at Fasor Lutheran Grammar School compares animal aggression with human agression, highlights similarities and differences, and establishes that only Quarterly publication of the Lutheran Church in Hungary Editorial and Publishing Office: H—1088 Budapest, Puskin u. 12. The Taizé European Meeting for Young People took place in Budapest between 30 December 1991 and 4 January 1992. For the first time there was a large number of young people from the former ’socialits countries’ among the around 75 000 participants. The main theme was: ’Love, the source of freedom.’. Along with other denominations, hundreds of Lutheran families and scores of Lutheran churches welcomed and hosted the young people sharing with them the faith-generation- political dimensions of ecumenicity and appeasement, finding at the same time opportunity to express their Lutheran contribution. In some congregations the pilgrimage of trust was characterized — with or without reason — by mistrust and reservations. The essay written by the Taizé Brothers together with the young people provides first-hand information on their history, their aims and activities with which, using as parables Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox traditions alike, they are serving mutual reconciliation. Besides the papers reviewed above, also a full Table of Contents is included in the English and German languages.
