Summary THE LIST OF ARCHIVAL MATERIAL FOR SCIENTIFIC AND RESEARCH WORK Making lists of archival material for particular activities is one of the actions of the evaluation of current records. The evaluation of current records is regulated by the act and the implementation of it. The list sistematically specifies material created by different organizations in the scientific and research sector, which due to its value has to be kept permanently. Lists of the archival material are bases for the disposal of worthless current record. The aim of evaluation and disposal of current records is to create prerequisites for rational protection and use of archives. That may be achieved by reducing its quantities. The list of the archival material for scientific and research work according to its characteristics is corporative (departmental), positive, orientational and actual. As corporative it refers to the types of institutions in scientific and research sector. According to function, it is positive, because it comprises only these types of records which are to be kept permanently. The orientational character of the list means that every particular author of the material can use the list as help when making one's own legal acts. The list should be applicable for archives which is to be produced by the above mentioned creators. It is the deductive method that is applied at the making of this list. After analysing authority and activities of organizations in scientific and research sector, as well as their mutual relations we made a list consisting all types of documents creat ed by them. By the application of several criteria documents with scientific and cultural value were selected. The most important among the criteria is the representative quality of the contents of the documents (eventually, and others are the presence of the documents in duplicate, triplicate etc., a level of a concentration of data, the utilization of the primary material, the derivation from the primary material and the transposition of data). In the final version of the list of records for permanent keeping is grouped in seven groups: a) scientific policy - in general b) legal regulation of scientific and research activities 67
