Summary TRANSFORMATION OF WORK IN PROTECTION OF ARCHIVES OUTSIDE THE INSTITUTIONS IN REPUBLIC CROATIA A new conception for protection of records outside the institutions is worked out in detail in this text. It is based on newly brought regulations in purpose to increase its effectivness. The chief element of this conception, in contrast with conception based on the universal protection, is to concentrate on the most important problems and to relieve from those that are not in the interest of protection. The first stage of protection refers to categorization, with purpose to reduce archive öweners who arc controlled and inspected. Next stage is making positive lists in order to strenghten records by norms. In that way archival documents are physically separate from nonarchival ones and total control and inspection is made possible. The summary translated into English Mirjana Peremin 57
