118 Hirka Antal OSB: Bélyeggyűjteményeink Two choleraletters to be found in the stamp collection of Pannonhalma were sent by the first president of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, József Teleki to two Benedictine monks, Fábián Szeder and Izidor Guzmics. The former one was a corresponding member, the latter one an ordinary member of the Academy. Szeder wrote on the letter: “The members of the Academy urge us to work even during the cholera epidemic. 2. Sept. 1831.” One further letter from Pannonhalma and another one from the religious house in Győr were sent to Mihály Rimely, the superior of the religious house and the headmaster of the secondary school in Kőszeg. These latter ones were delivered to the addressee via Vienna.
