International Choral *Kathaumixw Powell River, British Columbia, Canada The Girls' Choir of Kossuth Lajos Secondary Grammar School is highly honoured to represent Hungary at the International Choir Kathaumixw in Powell River, Canada, on July 4-10, 1994. Powell River is situated in British Columbia, 80 miles north of Vancouver on the "Sunny Beach" of the Pacific Ocean, at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. It has developed into a town from an ancient Indian settlement, and is where the local musical academy organizes an international festival and contest every other year, the present being the sixth one. 30 choirs of 25 countires from all over the world were given entry to the present contest. Each country, with the excep­tion of Canada and the U.S.A., is represented by one choir. Hungary is represented by the Girls Choir of Kossuth Lajos Secondary Grammar School, Cegléd. There are several categories, and we entered each one for which we were eligible.
