8 CALVIN SYNOD HERALD 2013 Synod Re-Elects Bishop Conference Council Chosen The Rt. Rev. Bela Poznan was chosen again to lead Calvin Synod for a three year term, and the Rt. Rev. Casba Krasnai also as the Auxiliary Bishop. Other officers chosen were as General Secretary the Rev. Stefan M. Torok, Synod Treasurer the Rev. Viktor Toth, and Synod Presbyter Mr. James Balias. Bishop Poznan is the pastor of the Calvin United Church of Christ, Fairfield CT, since 1994. Elected by the First Flungarian Reformed Church of Walton Hills OH, Pastor Krasnai observes his tenth year there. The new General Secretary, one of the new members of the Conference Council, Rev. Torok is the minister of Calvin Hungarian Reformed Church, Woodbridge NJ. He is joined by Rev. Toth, pastor of the First Hungarian Reformed Church in Hawthorne CA. The new Synod Presbyter, Mr. Balias, previously served in that office, and is the delegate of the Bridgeport United Church of Christ in Connecticut. The officers were installed in their offices at the conclusion of the annual meeting. Tornado Relief Fund, Oklahoma Dear Congregations, On Monday, May 20, 2013 one of the deadliest tornadoes in the U.S. history blasted through Oklahoma City and its suburbs, killing at least 24 people, including nine children, and more than 237 people were injured. Seven of those children were killed at Plaza Towers Elementary School in Moore, Oklahoma. The Conference Council of the Calvin Synod asks for your support to help the victims.
