CT On May 22, 2011 Sunday the congregation of the United Church of Christ in Bridgeport, CT celebrated the 50th Anniver­sary of the Ordination of the Rev. John W. Olson with a special wor­ship service followed by a luncheon in Puritan Hall. The congregation is grateful to have such a wonderful talent among us. 50th Executive Committee - L to R; Shelley Visinski, treasurer; Joseph Poruban, Chief Elder; Rev John W. Olson, Pastor; Frank Molnár, as­sistant treasurer; James Balias, Vice-Chief Elder; and Louis Sebestyen, Secretary. WOODBRIDGE. NJ The last couple of months were busy in the life of the congregation. In the month of May we have celebrated Mother’s Day with a special worship service, paying tribute to those mothers who are still among us, and lovingly remembered those mothers who are now with the Lord. On Memorial Sunday, we held special Patriotic Worship service, paying tribute to all those who offered their live in defense of our coun­try so that we may enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted. The worship Service closed with the sound of Taps. On the first Sunday in June we commemorated the Ascension of our Lord, and dwelt on the subject of the ascension from three different viewpoint: What I the ascension of our Lord means to us on the histori­cal level, the practical level and on the promise of the future. On June 12th we commemorated the birthday of the Christian Church and the fulfillment of the promise of Jesus in the giving of the Holy Spirit. In accordance with our tradition, Holy Communion was observed. As we look forward to the summer months: The Consistory made a decision to move the time of the Sunday Worship Service from 10:00 am to 9:00 am for the months of July and August. To cultivate Christian Fellowship a Church Picnic is planned for July 16th in the Church Yard. We look forward in worshipping all sum­mer long with the knowledge that the Lord does not go on vacation. FAIRPORT HARBOR. OH (website: hrcfairportharbor.org) July 2011 Outdoor Service/Potluck Picnic Sun 7/10: Worship held outside at 10:30 am, followed by a Potluck Picnic, Meat & Beverages provided by a service organization. Summer Sunday School - SSS - Every Sunday for 7 weeks starting on Sun 7/10 to Sun 8/14. SSS will start at 10:15 am and will feature a different Bible story & activity every week. August 2011 Lord’s Supper will be held on Sun. 8/7 at both Services - Magyar 9:00 am /English 10:30 am.
