Béla Póznán 79 Birchwood Drive • Fairfield, CT 06430 Questions may be directed by telephone to 203-259-6392 CONGREGATIONAL and CALVIN SYNOD NEWS LAKESIDE CLASSIS NEWS During their October 30, 2010 Meeting, reports were given by representatives of the following Lakeside Classis churches: Buf­falo, West Side Hungarian Ref. Church (Cleveland), Columbus, Dayton, Fairport Harbor, Lorain and Walton Hills. Also during the Meeting, the Lakeside Classis voted to give the host church (Westside Hungarian Reformed Church) $250. They also voted to give $100 to the Bethlen Home, $100 to Youth Camp, $100 to the Meeting’s guest speakers, Mr. & Mrs. John Csoti, and $300 to Toxic Flood Relief in Hungary. The Spring Lakeside Classis Meeting was held on April 2. Notes from that meeting were not yet available for this issue as we went to press. FIRST HUNGARIAN REFORMED CHURCH. Walton Hills OH John Sente, the Chief Elder reported during the Fall Lakeside Classis meeting that they worship in both English and Hungar­ian. The Church Choir sings twice a month and Sunday School is held both in Hungarian and English on every Lord’s Day. The Congregation has had successful fund-raisers and they had a Mission Sunday to raise money for the flood victims in Hungary. They also had a successful Fall Harvest Festival with 36 cos­tumed dancers. The Church Welcoming Committee encourages visitors to get more involved. FIRST HUNGARIAN REFORMED CHURCH. Pittsburgh PA The Congregation continues encourage all who can, to please join them in their efforts to raise money for a CT Scanner for Beregszász. Donations may be sent to: First Hungarian Ref. Church - 221 Johnston Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15207. Please write "CT Scanner for Beregszász" in memo. HUNGARIAN REFORMED CHURCH. Fairport Harbor. OH John Evanko reported during the Fall Lakeside Classis meeting that the church’s 100th Anniversary was very successful - the church was full with lots of young people in attendance. In gen­eral news, the church reported that on an average weekend, their usual church attendance is between 55 and 60. Sunday School is conducted by Marianne Medgyesi who works to bring in new children. The Sunday School enjoys crafts and Bible studies and is making plans for Summer activities.
