Helen was bom August 15, 1915 and died on June 12, 2010. Helen, a life-long church member, served on the consistory since the 1970’s and was Church Elder and also Assistant Treasurer. The Calvin Synod honored her and her late husband Charlie for their exemplary work as Church Elders. Helen and Charlie were also present at the Annual Synod Meeting and at the Classis Meetings. Helen is survived by family members, including members of her church family who loved her deeply. The funeral was on Wednesday, June 16 at our church. May she rest in peace and her memory remain blessed. HUNGARIAN REFORMED CHURCH Fairport Harbor, OH The Annual Meeting of the District Conference of Presbyters & Church Workers took place at our church on August 7. It began at 12 Noon with a luncheon and continued until 6 PM. The guest speaker was Rev. Imre Bertalan, Director of the Bethlen Communities and the topic of his presentation was “Revitalizing Our Churches, Part II” (Membership, Retention, Visitation, Church Growth, The Role of the Consistory and Congregation Members). All members of any congregation - youth to elder - were invited. We thank Rev. Bertalan for his informative and timely presentation! HUNGARIAN REFORMED CHURCH Lorain, OH Our congregation participated in the Annual Lorain International Festival on June 21-27. We had a food booth and in the time leading up to the Festival we made, for sale at the Festival: 1,000 chicken paprikas dinners w/stuffed cabbage, 75 roasters of dumplings w/gravy, 5,000 stuffed cabbages, 20 roasters of haluska, and 600 palacsintás. We also had a pastry booth where we sold pastries donated by ffiends/members of our church. This was a major church fundraiser and we thank all those who helped in any way! HUNGARIAN REFORMED CHURCH Woodbridge, NJ The congregation celebrated Father’s Day with a special worship and later in the month we held a Fix-it Day to scrape and repaint all the church windows. On July 17 we hosted a Church Picnic, with an open invitation extended to the John Calvin Magyar Reformed Church (Perth Amboy) whose members shall officially join our fellowship in the near future. JOHN CALVIN MAGYAR REF. CHURCH Perth Amboy, NJ After much negotiation, we reached an understanding on the sale of our church and parsonage to the Redeemed Christian Fellowship. A Special Congregational Meeting was held June 13
