6 105th Anniversary CALVIN SYNOD HERALD Our church, with the grace of God, celebrated its 105th Anniversary in November of 2007. The theme was “The Next One Hundred Years.” Throughout the year, each organization sponsored a special Sunday in which they participated in the worship services and provided fellowship and food afterward. These organizations include the Busy Martha Guild, Men’s Brotherhood, Sick Benefit Society and the Sunday School. On November 10, a Celebratory Service was held followed by a banquet. Rev. Imre Bertalan was the keynote speaker, preaching in the service and addressing the banquet attendees. Rev. Kristy Foster, Rev. Bob Gross, Rev. Frank Juhasz-Shepherd, Rev. Zoltán Kelemen, Rev. Alana Kelly, Rev. Csaba Krasznai, Rt. Rev. Koloman Ludwig, Rt. Rev. Louis Medgyesi, and Rev. Gabor Tamas also participated in the service. Our Chancel Choir and Sunday School sang at the service, and the Sunday School led the national anthems - both English & Hungarian - at the banquet. Both were directed by Jill Pongracz Murrell, our Musical Director. At the banquet, guests received a three course meal, coffee mug souvenir, and an anniversary book. Julius Pongracz was the publisher and editor of the book with assistance from our Rev. Peter Toth. Our congregation looks forward to “the next one hundred years” as it continues its service to our Lord, Jesus Christ.
