Rev. Dr. Francis Vitéz bishop presiding. The meeting will once again traditionally start at the chapel of the Bethlen Home on Moriah Hill. There will be an Opening Worship Service and Holy Communion on the first day and will continue in town at the Ramada Inn as it has in the past. This Annual Meeting of our congregations is the Annual Convention for the legislative, administrative and jurisdictional powers invested in the Synod. This year’s meeting is especially important because of the forthcoming elections. We will hold our elections for all Synodical Offices for the coming three years. Attendance by all our ministers and one lay voting delegate from each constituting congregation is a must. No congregation should be left out from the proceedings at this historic time! The Synodical Council will have its Meeting for the preparation of the Annual Synod Meeting mentioned above on the 23rd through 25th days of March, 1998, in Cleveland, Ohio at the Holiday Inn, Elyria. CaÜJin’s draper Lord, God! Our everlasting and almighty Father! We have gathered here in the Communion of Saints and in the company of angels and all blessed souls, to offer our sacrifice before Your heavenly throne. We do now confess and realize before Your almighty presence, that we are poor and sinful people, conceived in sin and inclined to do wrong, who never stop trespassing Your holy will. Doing this we do bring curse and damnation upon ourselves and our shortcomings. We are now beseeching - by true repentance - to graciously grant to us Your heavenly help. Humbly we beseech You, our loving and merciful Father, have mercy upon us! Wash away our manyfold sins! Grant us true repentance! Increase to us the gifts of Your Holy Spirit day after day, so that pure sincere remorse should bring forth the fruits of repentance so dear to You! We make our confession in Your divine presence to place our faith and hope in Your only begotten Son, our Lord Christ Jesus, being assured that by means of faith we may share Your mercy given to us in Him, and in Him alone. We ask You to grant all this to us both here and in the Life to come for His Name’s sake, forever! Amen! OUR MAGYAR SYNOD'S MOTTO: Traditions-embmting FAITH from the PAST, fervent HOPE far us in the PRESENT in LOVE's service for the FUTURE! FORTH-COMING EVENTS PAST EVENTS
