Without that glorious freedom fight, the spectacular changes of the last seven years would not have taken effect for a long, long time to come! Our withered bodies are a-flood with feeling. Upon our faded cheeks the sunlight gleams. Our steps are staggering, nay, almost reeling, Our souls are bright with freedom and its dreams. Our hearts, out of the dark, throw wide their portals, A purple flower from the earth upsoars. Out of our slavery, we show light to mortals, Without a weapon, we are conquerors. Szívet melengető, hiszen mint minden nép, igy a magyar nép együvétartozásának, közösségi érzelmeinek egyik legsarkallatosabb pontja a származástudat. Honnan, hogyan és mikor jöttünk? És ma merre tartunk? Ezt kérdezteti velünk, s ezen gondolkoztat el bennünket a millecentenárium. A Kárpát-medencei honfoglalás és honalapítás népünk történetének egyik legkiemelkedőbb eseménye volt. Őseink Európába jöttek, nem sokkal a megtelepedés után új vallásra tértek, új szellemet szívtak magukba, államukat a keresztyénség egyik védőbástyájává építették ki. Méltán ünnepeljük a honalapítás 1100. évfordulóját történelmünk kiemelkedő eseményeként, hiszen a honfoglalás históriai gyökere, az eredettudat népünk megmaradásának, éltető, erótadó forrása volt a legzivatarosabb évszázadokban. The 1100th Anniversary of the occupation of the land under the Carpathians and establishing a Nation by the magyars in Europe. It is a heartfelt and effusive occasion for all of us magyars - wherever we are - since for all earth's people (including us magyars) the feeling of belonging together is centered in the awareness of derivation. Where from and how did we come? Which way are we heading? The millecentenárium asks these questions and we are compelled to center our hearts on answers to these questions! The conquest of the Carpathian Basin and establishing a Nation therein was the most significant event of our history. Our ancestors entered into Europe, and soon after their settlement there they embraced a new religion, inhaled a new spirit, and established a new Nation. They made this new nation the bulwark of Christianity and Western Civilization. Reverently we are celebrating the millecentenarium, as a remarkable occasion, because the roots of this historical development, the consciousness of our origin, turned out to be the life-preserving and life-sustaining power of our entity in the Past, throughout the most tempestuous centuries of all human history.
