CALVIN SYNOD HERALD- 2 — REFORMÁTUSOK LAPJA CALVIN SYNOD NEWS OUR ANNUAL SYNODICAL MEETING May 19-22, Ligonier, PA The Fifty-Fourth Annual Meeting of the Calvin Synod, Conference of the United Church of Christ, will be held from the 19th of May to the 22nd in the traditional meeting place of the Lord Ligonier Motel in Ligonier, PA. This is the constitutional meeting of our congregations with legislative, administrational and jurisdictional powers invested in our Synod for the benefit of all local churches. This year’s meeting will be again an historical meeting with a very important and heavy Agenda. At the opening service, Dr. Paul H. Sherry, President of U.C.C., will preach, followed by Holy Communion Our democratic system of church government operates through the balanced power of elected ministerial and lay delegates from all our local congregations based in nine states in America. It is indeed extremely important that all lay delegates (one from each congregation) should accompany the pastor for this legislative meeting. One of his greatest accomplishments was being an author of several Historical books which were printed in the Hungarian language in Hungary.
