CALVIN SYNOD HERALD — 2 — REFORMÁTUSOK LAPJA CALVIN SYNOD NEWS • THANKSGIVING of Jesusand for Jesus is foremost in our mind when we move from the Thanksgiving season toward the Advent- Christmas season in these days. There are three occasions when your Lord gave thanks to God according to the Scriptures: once He gave thanks for the common things when He broke the loaves upon the mountainside; once He gave thanks for ordinary people in that God had revealed His secret unto babes; and once He gave thanks in the darkest hour of His life — when He broke the bread in the night of betrayal with such glorious thanksgiving as none who heard it could ever forget. This is the thanksgiving OF Jesus which makes us thankful FOR Jesus as we realize that He came to save us!
