Dr. John Butosi 963 Laurel Ave. Bridgeport, Conn. 06604 (203) 368-3658 THE CONFERENCE COUNCIL had official meeting on Sept. 6-7 in Ligo­­nier, Pa. and, among many other issues, acted on the following items: Upon the recommendation of the Committee on Church and Ministry, Privilege of Call was granted to Revs. Gabor Nitsch and Stephen Szőke. Ministerial standing was granted to Revs. Zoltán Szabó and Pál Mező (Toronto). The death of the Rt. Rev. Dr. Ste­phen M. Böszörményi on July 10, was remembered as a loss of Synod. Ordination of the Rev. John Vincze on June 13 at Calvin UCC, Fairfield, Conn, was acknowledged. Installation of Rev. D. Tamas (Beth­lehem, Pa.) and Rev. M. Kerekes (Buffalo, N.Y.) on Sept. 19, and the installation of the Rev. Attila Kish (Kalamazoo, Mich.) on Oct. 3 was granted and approved. The elections of Rev. A. Kish in Kalamazoo, Mich, on June 13, Bishop Butosi in Bridgeport, Conn, on June 27, Rev. T. Petroczy in Elyria, Ohio on Aug. 8 were acknowledged and ap­proved. The printed minutes of the last Synod Meeting were received, and au­thorization to print 1,000 copies of Synod’s Constitution and Bylaws was approved. The Committee of Seven to consider an assistant to the bishop’s office was called to meet on Oct. 11, 1976 at Richfield, Ohio. Synod Retreat dates were set: West­ern, Lake Side, Central Classes will meet from noon, March 21 to noon, March 22, 1977 at Coliseum Holiday Inn, Richfield, Ohio; while Eastern Classis will meet from noon, March 25 to noon, March 26 at a place to be chosen. Date of 1977 Synod Meeting was also set: it will be held on April 18- 21 in Ligonier, Pa. Report on Youth Camp was received. Over 100 campers and counselors were together from Aug. 8 to 14 at Camp Laurel Wood, Pa. in good weather and inspiring atmosphere. The Hungarian Ref. Federation of America and the William Penn Association each pre­sented a $1,000 check. Thanks for the gifts which make possible to keep registration fee reasonably low. Also thanks for the dinner which was pro­vided by the Bethlen Home on Aug. 11. And of course, thanks to all who helped to make camp a meaningful experi­ence, especially to camp director, Rev. A.
