REFORMÁTUSOK LAPJA 3 CALVIN SYNOD MEETING The Calvin Synod held their annual meeting April 28 throug May 1 in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. The meeting was presided over by the Rt. Rev. Arpad Beretz, Bishop. At the meeting, the Bishop, the pro ten secretary of Synod, the Rev. Aaron Elek and the treasurer, Rev. Joseph Kecskemethy presented their reports. The meeting voted unanimously on cooperation and merger of the Synod and the Hun­garian Reformed Church in America pending legal clarifications. At the annual banquet, the 75th Anniversary of our Calvin Synod Herald - Reformátusok Lapja was observed. The Rev. Joseph Kecskemethy and his wife were honored at the banquet, both receiving citations for their untiring service to Synod. At the banquet, the Revs. Mária and Sándor Babos, former missionaries in China, were also hon­ored. Also honored for their faithful services were Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Gyiire of Hammond, Indiana and Mr. Nicholas Segedi of Wallingford, Connecticut. Bishop Beretz emphasized the importance of student aid to seminary students. He also announced the forthcoming 300th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Hungarian Galley Slaves by Michael Ruyter, a Dutch Admiral. The following were elected as officers for the next four years: Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Dr. John Butosi; Deputy Bishop, the Rev. Desmond Parragh; General Secretary, the Rev.
