New York Calls Pastor Our New York congregation on August 20, 1972 tendered an almost unanimous call (one dissenting vote) to the Reverend Julius Nagy of Montreal, Canada. The Rev. Joseph Kecskemethy, Synod Council member, was the presiding minister for the congregational meeting. Our Synodical Council wishes to express its deep appreciation to the Rev. Dr. John Butosi, former president of Synod, for his willingness to act as administrator for over a year to the New York congregation. His patience, his honesty, and his teaching were a real contribution to the solution of this difficult matter. Also a word of commendation to the officers and consistory of our New York church for their loyalty to their people and to our Synod. We hope and pray that now a period of quiet growth and work will come to our New York people under the guidance of their new pastor.
