The Bethlen Home
The Bethlen Home’s Annual Fraternal Day The Hungarian picnic recently held on the Bethlen Home grounds on Sunday, July 15th is an annual event enjoyed by all. This year over 250 guests and their families attended the event and the weather couldn’t have been more beautiful. Entertainment was provided throughout the day by Dorothy and Company as well as the dance troop from the Hungarian Ethnic Group of Western Pa. Needless to say the music and the dancing were a hit. The residents were thrilled to see the young children in their native costumes dancing. The guests enjoyed a variety of foods such as a roast pig along with the traditional dishes of bacon fry, goulash, etc. Mr. and Mrs. Bela Csikesz were very popular with their homemade langos again this year. Magyar Marketing from Youngstown, Ohio again had a variety of ethnic items for sale such as cookbooks, clothing, etc. Thanks to everyone who attended and helped to make the picnic a success. We’re already looking forward to planning next year’s. Residents, staff and families enjoyed the Hungarian dancers from the Hungarian Ethnic Group of Western PA during their performance here at the Bethlen Home’s annual Hungarian Picnic. HRFA Director Clara Csikesz and her husband Bela raised $248.25 for the Bethlen Home with their homemade langos. 25
