BETHLEHEM, PENNSYLVANIA Hungarian Evangelical Reformed Church Magyar Református Egyház Bethlehem, Pennsylvania Pastor: Rev. Ronald R. Hari Chief Elder: Robert F. Csizma Again, we are blessed that our Hungarian Evangelical Reformed Church has continued to enjoy another successful year in celebrating our religious dedication to God and each other, maintaining a strong presence in the city of Bethlehem. Our parishioners have continued to support the church regularly through their faithful worship and attendance; donation of time, talent and money; and involvement in the Community programs. We continue to emulate an atmosphere of welcome, tolerance and we are again indeed fortunate that all our members and guests regularly receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion. There have been 4 baptisms, 5 funerals and 5 weddings. The summer of 2001 will long be remembered in the life of our parish. We were again invited to participate in the Spirit of Bethlehem Festival. We accepted. The pastor again had the wonderful experience of coordinating a cultural exhibit of our Church, St. John Capistrano Hungarian Roman Catholic Church and Zion First Hungarian Lutheran Church. The theme of the Festival was “BREAD”. We have decided to join the Council of Churches, Greater Bethlehem Chapter. October 31, 2001 marked the closing of Grace Community UCC Church in Fountain Hill, Bethlehem, PA. This congregation of ours were at one time one church body. We have petitioned their Bishop for the safe keeping of the original church records, and have been granted that request. We have also been given the original bell of the South Side Church. We cordially welcome their members to our church and would hope that they would feel at home here. Our small church is alive, well and thriving. Rev. Ronald R. Hari 154
