BETHLEHEM, PENNSYLVANIA Hungarian Evangelical Reformed Church Magyar Református Egyház Bethlehem, Pennsylvania Pastor: Rev. Ronald R. Hari Chief Elder: Robert F. Csizma Our Hungarian Evangelical Reformed Church of “Kicsiny Betlehemben”, has again enjoyed another successful year in celebrating our religious commitments to God and to each other. Our members continue to welcome new members of our extended families and community, offering them the services of our Church. Chief Elder Bob Csizma wishes to congratulate all of our members for their faithful commitments to maintaining a strong presence in our ever changing City of Bethlehem, a large city, compared to the Bethlehem of Jesus’ birth, through joint endeavors such as our Christmas Program sponsored by The South Bethlehem Historical Society and our Hungarian Carolers. Our social events continue to draw greater and greater crowds. We attract a nice number of visitors throughout the year. We are well known for our hospitality and excellent Hungarian cuisine. Programs such as these help foster learning, pride, and respect, and understanding among all ethnic groups, which leads to greater appreciation of each others cultural and spiritual lives and traditions. We are proud of our involvement in these joint endeavors which promote inter-cultural and inter-racial harmony in our city of Bethlehem and Global Community. In the year of 2000, our parishioners have continued to support the Church regularly through their faithful worship and attendance; donations of time, talent, and money; and involvement in the Community programs. On Ash Wednesday we hosted a capacity crowd. It was a memorable occasion for all who attended. With the beginning of Lent, we observed Holy Communion. As we prepared for Easter, we had an Easter Sunrise Breakfast 92
