Bethlen Almanac 2000 (Ligonier)
Rev. Imre A. Bertalan: The Bethlen Almanac - The Bethlen Home
THE BETHLEN ALMANAC Dear Reader: As I take pen in hand to greet you in the Name of our Lord, His words come to mind, as recorded in Revelation 1,19: “Write what you have seen and what is and what will happen after these things.” For many a decade now the Bethlen Almanac has provided written testimony to the work and witness of the Hungarian Reformed people and other Hungarian Christian people living outside the borders of our homeland. Year in and year out, within the pages of this volume, the history of our people has been preserved. Truly, our authors have written about what they had seen in the past and what they experienced in the present day. And throughout the past editions of this volume, all glory and praise have been given to God. This new collection of reports and articles, summarizing the year 2000 in the history and ministry of our people, is faithful to the custom of the past. This year, too, we write about “what we have seen and what is”. But as you read the accounts contained herein, your heart will rejoice also at “what will happen after these things”. Reflected in each page of the 2000 Bethlen Almanac is our people’s abiding faith in God.......the God who puts His right hand on us (Revelation 1:17,18) and says: “Don’t be afraid! I am the first, the last, and the living one”. We hope you enjoy this latest edition of the Bethlen Almanac. Give thanks with us to God for all that we have seen and what we experience now. But also give thanks and wait with anticipation for what is to come. God’s hand will continue to lead us and work new miracles among us and through us. In this new year, as in the last, all glory and praise will be to Him! Rev. Imre A. Bertalan, Executive Director The Bethlen Home
