Bethlen Almanac 2000 (Ligonier)
Közép Egyházmegye - Central Classis
Some members sent monetary gifts for the upcoming marriage of Rev. Lőrinc Kovács of Transylvania, who was among one of our Temporary Ministers. The members also enjoyed our annual picnic on September 3rd at the West Mifflin Park in addition to Pumpkin Painting on October 15th and 22nd. On Sunday, October 29th, we will have our Annual Apple-Pumpkin Festival to which the congregation looks to with great anticipation. Also, in October, Rev. Alexander Jalso will complete his first year serving our congregation. The relationship among the members and the pastor is extremely friendly, cordial, and most rewarding. For the past 10 years, we are indeed fortunate to have as our Organist, Mrs. Helen W. Dodds, a graduate of Oberlin Conservatory of Music. In addition to Mrs. Dodds, we are extremely pleased to have Mr. Stephen Somiak, a retired Pittsburgh opera singer as our soloist. We have a very conscientious Consistory who are responsible for maintaining the upkeep of our church. The Chief-Elder is Mr. Earl V. Jones, Jr., Assistant Chief-Elder, Mr. William F. Horosz, Treasurer, Ms. Lisa Susan Toth, Assistant Treasurers - Mrs. Ruth Toth and Mrs. Vera Recktosh, Secretary, Mrs. Dorothy C. Capp. We have had four funerals and two wedding services this year. We look into the future with hope because we trust in the Lord and can depend on the loyalty and generosity of our members. Rev. Alexander Jalso, Permanent Part-Time Minister 55
