Maria Poes Fraternal Day Braving an unrelenting heat wave that topped out at 103 degrees, a very loyal gathering of approximately 300 people attended our 7th An­nual Maria Poes Fraternal Day on Sunday, August 1, 1999. The tranquil Basilian Fathers Monastery grounds in Matawan, New Jersey, again served as the setting for this year’s event sponsored by the St. George District and combined Branches of New Jersey. The Very Reverend Joseph Erdei, OSBM, is Superior of the Monastery. The Rt. Rev. Dr. Francis Vitéz, former Bishop of the Calvin Synod, UCC gave the invocation followed by the singing of our National An­thems by Elaine Convery.
