ROEBLING, NEW JERSEY Roebling Hungarian Reformed Church Roebling, New Jersey Supply Pastor: Leslie E. Martin Chief Elder: Allan Birkholz Church life here in Roebling has been very active socially and spiritually. We have held weekly worship services and have had numerous other events which serve to bring our Hungarian Reformed Christian Community together. In May, our church Women’s Guild sponsored the Annual Church Women United Conference. Hungarian Reformed Churches from New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania were represented. The conference was a wonderful success. In September our Congregation welcomed Pastor Leslie E. Martin and his wife, Linda to our church. Our new Pastor has been providing regular weekly worship services and liturgical services as needed. Pastor Martin and his wife have been well received by the congregation and the community. On Monday mornings, in October, November, and December, the church ladies (and some men too, including the Pastor!) gathered in the church hall to make csiga and noodles. They were prepared and sold as a fund-raising activity. This event is far more than just manufacturing noodles, it is a fun social event as well. On December 11, our church men (and some women too!) gathered in the church hall to make kolbász. It was delicious and we sold it as a fund raiser (almost all of it, well,... we had to eat some of it,... we couldn’t resist!) By the grace of God, we have been blessed with a small but faithful congregation. May God continue to bless us and the rest of the Hungarian Reformed Churches as we cross the threshold into the third millennium. Come Lord Jesus, we await your return! Leslie E. Martin, Supply Pastor 142
