monthly group of ladies, who come and join our own membership for fellowship and joy together. These ladies meet several additional times during the year to bake and earn income for the church, though more than half are neither Protestant nor church members; but for them, also, our congregation performs an important mission in our community. We have always been active in our Synod and Classis activities, and these included hosting the Classis meeting this past fall. We were honored that the Bishop was present with us that day, as he prepared for and we joined him in the 25th Anniversary Celebration of our pastor’s service in our sister congregation at Whiting, Indiana. Ours is a congregation that is proud of its Hungarian, Erdélyi heritage, and will continue to serve the Lord as long as he allows us that opportunity. Margaret Augustine, Chief Elder Rev. Koloman K. Ludwig, Pastor KALAMAZOO, MICHIGAN Hungarian Reformed Church Kalamazoo, Michigan Chief Elder: Mihály Csiszár The Hungarian Reformed Church of Kalamazoo has been very active this past year. We have been carrying on a tradition for generations in Kalamazoo, worshipping both in Hungarian and English for all these years. Our congregation is often the meeting place of Hungarians from throughout the area, including a local Hungarian Club which counts members from as far away as Grand Rapids, where many of our congregational members live. We have hosted the Annual Meetings of the Western Classis, and been active with the Calvin Synod without fail, and continue to be supportive of our common Reformed Community. This year has brought us a number of changes in the congregation. We have been blessed with new members, quite a few activities, both social and congregational. Currently we are relying on supply pastors for leadership in worship, but hope that we will have a permanent solution in the near future. 117
