operator. He served as Branch Manager of the Massena branch No. 214 of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America for many years. Mr. Orosz is survived by his wife, Martha; his five daughters, Mrs. David (Marie) Kirwan of Massena, Mrs. Phil (Linda) Powers of Wilson, Mrs. James (Susan) Parisian of Massena, Julie Orosz of Louis­ville, and Mrs. Richard (Peggy) Hewitt of Toronto, and one son, Kip M. Orosz of Massena. Rev. Stephen Sziarto (1910-1998) Reverend Sziarto was bom in McDowell County, West Virginia, of Hungarian immigrant parents. He graduated from Elkhorn (WV) High School in 1928, the day Lindbergh flew over the ocean. He earned his BS degree from Franklin and Marshall College in 1931 and his BD from Lancaster Theological Seminary in 1934, both in Lancaster, Pennsylva­nia. He served Hungarian Reformed Churches in Cleveland First Church (1935-39) and Columbus, Ohio (1939-49). He married Margaret Nagy in Fairfield, Connecticut. After Pearl Harbor, all the young people were subject to the uni­versal draft related to World War II. After an unsuccessful attempt to en­list as a Navy Chaplain, his contribution to the war effort was to volunteer for all sorts of war related services. He was commissioned Special Agent of the FBI (1951-71) and served primarily in Washington, D.C. He and his wife Margaret began their third careers as Tree Farm­ers in Hampshire County winning the Best Tree Farm Award in West Vir­ginia in 1976. They have been living near Slanesville, West Virginia, since 1984. Reverend Sziarto had ministerial standing with the Central Atlantic Conference, UCC. Since 1972, he has been Chaplain Emeritus of the FBI Fidelity (Masonic) Club of Washington, D.C. and Chaplain Emeritus of the Hun­garian Freedom Fighters Federation Chapel in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia (1988-93). He published a book entitled, “Background of Deft & Daft Dictio­nary,” in 1993, thus making Deft & Daft Dictionary come to vibrant life. He was one of the 27 former “Lancaster Students,” most of whom became ministers of our churches.
