Bethlen Almanac 1998 (Ligonier)

Tóparti Egyházmegye - Lakeside Classis

The new addition to our church, to be completed by Easter, '99 We participated at the Calvin Synod meeting in the Spring, at the installation of Rev. Geczy in Cleveland, the Presbyter’s Association meeting in Ligonier, the Ministerial Association meeting, the Bethlen Home’s Board of Directors meeting, where I was elected a director. We hosted the Lakeside Classis meeting in our church. We were proud to be present at the installation of our great friend. The Rt. Rev. Louis Medgyesi as Bishop. Our prayers are with Rev. Nyeste our neighbor in Columbus, OH, who is recovering from 3rd degree burns to his body, caused by a car fire last Father’s Day. Our congregation is an elderly group, and we are trying to reach out to the younger generations to bring them in, get them involved. It is going to be a very tough endeavor in a city that has about 5,000 churches, with various, attractive programs. Within 3 square miles from us we have 17 churches, and another one is being built right across from ours. May God grant us the strength and the wisdom to succeed. Thanks God, for the dedicated few, without whom this church would be struggling to survive. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the clergy and lay people who helped us tremendously throughout the year without a Pastor. We also would like to thank the Bishop and Dean for their help, and thank God who provided us with the opportunity to share His Love, and serve His people. Soli Deo Gloria! Rev. Gábor G. Nitsch, Pastor 84
