egy “klub”, hanem a Jézus Krisztusban hívők testvéri közössége, ahol egymás terhét hordozzuk a szó sokrétű és nemes értelmében, és eget ostromolva keressük problémáinkra a megoldást. Gyéren betöltött padok nem gyakorolnak vonzó erőt látogatóink számára. Áldozatos adakozást se jelentenek un. “tagdíjak”. Mégis vannak olyanok, akiknek első kérdésük az, amikor hívjuk őket csatlakozni, hogy “nálatok mennyi az évi tagdíj?” Hány magyar református egyházban ismeretlen, sőt visszatetsző az un. évi “pledge-system”! Isteni csoda, hogy mindenek dacára még áll a magyar református egyházaink sora drága Kálvin Egyházkerületünket alkotva, egymásért imádkozva, egymást bátorítva. Mit is olvasunk Máté 9:37-38- ban? Azt, hogy “az aratni való sok, a munkás kevés, kérjétek azért az aratásnak Urát, hogy küldjön munkásokat az O aratásába”. Menjünk hegyeket mozgató hittel, és vállaljuk a felelősséget ott, ahol Isten éppen a mi számunkra jelölte ki a szolgálat területét, hogy magunk is áldássá lehessünk! Dr. William D. The regular work of the church continued uninterrupted in the year of our Lord 1996. We have held two congregational luncheons or dinners - one in April and one in November. The November congregational dinner served as the anniversary of the founding of our Church in 1914. We also celebrated our yearly Christmas festival in December with our church members and friends, followed by a bountiful Christmas buffet, prepared by the Choir members. The festival became a tradition for a number of years. The Choir of our church sang Christmas anthems and hymns in accompaniment of the Christmas story. We have contributed to the bells of the Temesvár Church and also helped Emese Belenyi, an outstanding deaf and mute student from Transylvania who was helped to come to America to improve her hearing. Our church helped two young ladies from Transylvania who finished their scholarship studies in Ohio, and helped Rev. Ildikó Bahnt who was hit by 113
