Scholarship is either a student from Hungary who wishes to study at Lancaster or a student at Lancaster who desires to study with the theological faculty at the University of Debrecen in Hungary. The Sziartos, who own and operate an award-winning tree farm in West Virginia, have had an interesting life. Stephen earned his bachelor of science degree from Franklin & Marshall, while Margaret studied piano and was accompanist for Bridgeport Symphony Orchestra in Connecticut. After their marriage in 1936, the couple served Hungarian Reformed Churches in Cleveland, Columbus and Basil, Ohio. In 1951 Stephen was commissioned a special agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and he served in that capacity until his retirement in 1971. During his Washington, D.C. years, he served the FBI Masonic Fidelity Club as chaplain for 19 years, and he has been chaplain emeritus since his retirement from the Bureau. Stephen participated in FBI Vesper services for 30 years and in 1979 director William Webster invited him to act as chaplain of the Special Agent Memorial Services, which he did until 1990. Shortly after moving to Washington, Margaret was employed by the Department of Defense as a research analyst. Steadily she advanced in the National Security Agency until she was promoted to the highly classified category of linguist/ cryptographer, retiring in 1973. During her NSA years she attended George Washington University and took extensive NSA in-house studies. From 1985 to 1992 Stephen served the Hungarian Freedom Fighters Federation Chapel in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, as resident chaplain. As “ad hoc” chaplain he served the XFBI National Conventions Vesper Service in several cities, including San Diego, CA, in 1992, where he was honored for meritorious service. He still serves as an interim minister at Freedom Fighters Chapel, Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.
