COLUMBUS, OH Pastor: Rev. István Nyeste „Faith of our fathers! living still... We will be true to thee till death. ” (Hymn #282) We try to be true to the faith of our fathers, to hold our worship services, to organize different activities, to support our church. Our minister is Rev. István Nyeste. The officers of the consistory are: chief-elder Terry Albert, vice-president Gary Isaacs, secretary Mary Fuleki, treasurer Irma Carnevale. The church auditors are: Louis Poczik and Janet Vegh. Our honorary chief-elder is Alex Mészáros. The Churchmen’s Brotherhood having as president Terry Albert, vice-president Frank Peterfy prepares and sells Hun­garian sausage twice a year. They organized together with the Women’s Guild, the Parents’ Day Dinner, honoring both the Mothers and the Fathers. The Brotherhood organizes the Caroling night. We come to the church on a Sunday night before Christmas and sing the beautiful carols, watch the program of the Sunday School, and Youth Fellowship. Doughnuts and hot chocolate is served and Santa visits us too. The Hungarian Cultural Association at Easter time, sponsors the Egg-hunt and Egg-coloring, where the Easter- Bunny also shows up. They organize the yearly commemoration of the 1848 and the 1956 Hungarian Revolutions, preparing a good dinner and a cultural program on those days. They are present at the Festival of Nations sponsored by the U.N. The sausage, the goulash and the cabbage rolls are definite stars of this festival. The annual Hungarian Picnic and the Grape Harvest Dance is also organized by the Hungarian Cultural Association. The Association invited performers and speakers from Hungary and America.
