Upon her retirement and prior to her moving to Oklahoma in 1985, the congregation honored Mrs. Olga E. Szabó at a special dinner in recognition of her service to the congregation. She had been a lifelong member of the Staten Island church and had served as president of the Board of Elders for the past five years and earlier as treasurer. She had been president of the Women’s Guild also. Her dedicated service also included offices on the classis and denominataional levels.

The annual church picnic and the bazaar are each successful functions, which along with the Chinese auctions arranged by the Women’s Guild help provide generously to maintain this small congregation’s varied services. The preparation of kolbász and its sale also add to the fellowship activities of the congregation.

In 1984-85 a $200 scholarship was provided by the congregation for a student at Princeton Theological Seminary. One confirmand was received into church membership in 1984. There were seven funerals in 1984 as compared to two in 1983. The congregation has fifty communicant members. For the past five years no Sunday School has been maintained.

Following extensive consideration of the decline in attendance at the Sunday Hungarian worship service, the congregation held its last complete Hungarian language worship service on October 6, 1985, Worldwide Communion Sunday. We shall continue to provide for the Hungarian worshipers as part of the English language worship services on Sunday.

Istentiszteleteiket rendszeresen megtartják a Grantwood Congregational Church bérelt templomában. Az úrvacsorát egyházi rendtartásunk szerint kiszolgáltatták.

A gyülekezet továbbra is élen jár az adakozásban. Rendszeresen támogatja az egyházkerület missziói munkáját. Az elmúlt évben is jelentős adományokkal támogatták a New York-i
